A Small Resort in Harmony with Nature
“Tiny House ZEN Kurahashi Island” is operated by Konomatsu.
Our mission is to propose a lifestyle that embraces nature while offering a peaceful and relaxing space for our guests. We hope this small resort becomes a special retreat where visitors can unwind and momentarily escape from everyday life.
I was born and raised in Tokyo, but I was introduced to Hiroshima Prefecture through a regional revitalization project called “Hiroshima Satoyama Wave,” organized by the Hiroshima Prefectural Government. During a study tour, I visited Katsuragahama Beach on Kurahashi Island and was deeply moved by its breathtaking beauty. That moment inspired me to create this accommodation. The serene sea here has a truly calming effect, and I wanted to share this experience with others.
Throughout my travels across the Seto Inland Sea, I found that very few places have preserved their original landscapes as beautifully as Kurahashi Island.
To enhance the connection with nature, we designed Tiny House ZEN with a structure that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a unique and immersive experience.
Enjoy an extraordinary stay at Tiny House ZEN, surrounded by nature, with exciting facilities and attractions nearby.

About the Founder
As a freelance writer, I have covered many regional revitalization initiatives and have a deep understanding of Japan’s inbound tourism. Previously, I served as the editor-in-chief of Yamatogokoro.jp, a leading inbound tourism portal in Japan. Through my work, I recognized the challenges of attracting international visitors to regional areas and decided to take action.
I began by hosting travelers from around the world at my home in Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo, and now, I am bringing that experience to Kurahashi Island, where I hope to welcome guests seeking a truly special and immersive stay.
